The city is a participant of the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program administered through the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development. The city uses this grant to provide assistance for low and moderate income residents through services targeted towards decent housing, a suitable living environment and expanding economic opportunity.
The City’s 2019-2023 Consolidated Plan identifies priority areas for funding to include (1) youth and adult education; (2) child health and welfare services; (3) senior and adult services; (4) disabled population services; and (5) homeless services.
Applications are now being accepted for the following CDBG programs:
Residential Paint Program
Provides assistance for exterior painting improvements for eligible homeowners.
Provides assistance for activities within the following priority areas: (a) education of youth and adults; (b) health and welfare services for children; (c) senior/adult services; (d) disabled population services; (e) homeless services.
